Good morning. I have received a bill from Hospital St Luc. According to this bill, my son was visited by a certain Dr. Lacroix on 7 February 2019. This doctor, according to this bill, performed for my son the services referred to in the INAMI code 101290 ( which refers to: Consultation au cabinet par un médecin spécialiste en chirurgie, en oto-rhino-laryngologie ou en médecine physique et en réadaptation, accrédité, y compris un rapport écrit éventuel au médecin traitant) This bill is a lie. Firstly because: On 7 february 2019 my son and myself met with a representative from the company Orthodevice. This representative took the measurements for my son for the production of a special orthopedic device. The taking of the measurement ( a service included in the expensive price of the orthopedic device) is NOT what is described in the code INAMI quoted in the bill, nor the representative from ortho device was a qualified doctor. Secondly because: neither my son, nor myself have ever met this Dr Lacroix, neither on 7 February, nor before this date, nor after this date. My son was visited by a doctor in st Luc in January and this doctorprescribed the orthopedic device. I paid for this visit. This doctor was NOT Dr Lacroix. In the attachment you will find evidence of my statements. Since I refused to pay an invoice that is false, I received a few months later a claim from the debt collection agency charged by ST Luc, MODERO. I explained to MODERO the circumstances of the case. A few weeks later MODERO came back to me, asking for the payment of the invoice, plus additional charges, claiming that they had checked with the hospitals and that the invoice is correct that Dr Lacroix was present. Regrettably. MODERO did not provide any evidence of what they wrote to support their claim. Where is the evidence of what they say? At the beginning of this story I thought that it was just a mistake or simple maladminstration, but now, I believe that I am being confronted with fraudulent attempts to claim money from people.
