On April 10, 2024, I received an alarming email from Poppy, informing me of an invoice related to a journey dated December 16, 2023, with vehicle 2DLK175. To my astonishment, no invoice was attached to the email, and I was accused of being responsible for damages without any substantiated evidence.I promptly responded to this email, vehemently denying any involvement in an accident involving a Poppy vehicle. I outlined that I had never encountered any incidents while using their service, and I would not accept responsibility for damages I did not cause. Additionally, I pointed out discrepancies in the trip record provided by poppy application, where it purported that I traveled 6km in one minute!!! without any change in the car's position—a manifestly dubious claim!!!!.Despite my efforts to clarify the situation, the response from Poppy's customer service team was wholly inadequate. I was simply informed that, After conducting a thorough investigation into the matter, we have reviewed the records for both your recent trip and the previous trip by other users. Regrettably, no damage reports were found during either journey or afterward. In this respect, I repeatedly requested specific details of the starting and ending points of the trip in question, but these requests were met with refusal to provide further information. It is essential to note that within the Poppy application, the history of each trip is meticulously recorded. However, in this particular instance, the record indicates that the position of the vehicle remained unchanged, and I supposedly covered 6km within a single minute (between 12:15 and 12:16). Such an accusation is entirely unacceptable without adequate reason and evidence, especially considering the lack of clarity surrounding the circumstances.Furthermore, I find it unacceptable that Poppy has proceeded to levy exorbitant charges totaling €3949.92 against my banking account without providing sufficient evidence or justification. Your company's unilateral action in deducting these funds without my consent or cooperation is both unethical and potentially unlawful.Upon reviewing the terms and conditions of Poppy's service, it is evident that the party responsible for damages is the individual who directly caused them—not the last user of the vehicle who failed to report them. As such, Poppy must undertake due diligence to identify the true perpetrator of any damages before assigning liability and seeking compensation.I have also raised concerns about the security of my banking information, particularly given the unauthorized deductions from my account. I explicitly requested that Poppy revoke its access to my banking details until this matter is resolved and until I provide explicit consent for such access. Unfortunately, this request caused them to also stop my access to My trip history and now I do not have acces to it anymore.In light of these grievances, I would therefore like to file a complaint against them and recover charges deducted from my banking account.
